Charity
Friends of Hawaii Charities activates financial resources from the private sector and spirited volunteerism from the community, tapping the extraordinary natural resources of the state of Hawaii, to produce sports and cultural events that generate funds for qualifying not-for-profit endeavors in Hawaii benefiting its women, youth, and needy. The Friends' flagship fund-raising event is the Sony Open in Hawaii PGA TOUR golf tournament held at Waialae Country Club each January.
Sony Open Charity Partner
The Sony Open's Charity partner, The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, Inc., is dedicated to assisting the poor, primarily through operating and capital grants to direct serve organizations primarily located in Baltimore, Hawaii, Northeastern Pennsylvania, New York, Israel, and the Former Soviet Union.
These grants are focused on meeting basic needs such as shelter, nutrition, health and socialization, and on enhancing an individual's ability to meet those needs. Within that focus, emphasis is placed on the elderly and on the Jewish community.
To volunteer at the Sony Open in Hawaii, please complete and send in a volunteer registration form.
